Join us in Swift Hall for a closed workshop with the Moroccan Sufi Shaykh Mohammed Faouzi al-Karkari about the process of inspired writing and the production of ecstatic literature. We will read key excerpts from his philosophical and poetic corpus on the nature of friendship with God (wilāya). Themes to be discussed include the limits of the written form, discursive versus experiential modes of knowing, and the ways in which readers can engage with this genre of Sufi literature.
