Award: Alwaleed Bin Talal Undergraduate Thesis Prize, April 17, 2026

We are pleased to announce that we are accepting submissions for the Alwaleed Bin Talal Undergraduate Thesis Prize. The prize recognizes students who make original contributions to current scholarly discourse on Islam and Muslim societies, past and present. Theses will be evaluated based on the quality of the research, originality of topic, clarity of expression, and strength of argument.
All applications should be submitted through CARAT. A letter of nomination from a faculty advisor, a resume/CV, and a personal statement in which the applicant explains their methodology and sources and why they believe their thesis should win the prize are required.
This prize is open to Harvard College students in all academic disciplines in the class of 2026. This prize carries a $1,000 cash award. The award will be announced by May 15, 2026.
