Call for Applications: Boise State University: Assistant Professor, Middle Eastern History

The Department of History at Boise State University invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 2019. We seek to appoint a faculty member with expertise in Middle Eastern History. All research specializations, geographic areas, and secondary fields will be considered. A strong commitment to teaching and evidence of scholarly potential are expected.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach a lower-level Islamic Civilization course, teach upper division courses in the candidate’s field, and work with graduate students in Master of Arts and Master of Applied Historical Research programs. The successful applicant will also be expected to engage in research and service activities commensurate with the Department’s work load policies.
Minimum Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in History or Middle Eastern Studies is required by the beginning of the appointment on August 14, 2019. Candidates must demonstrate interest, ability, and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates who can contribute to one or more of the department’s current strengths in environmental, gender, military, public, and religious history are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates who have a demonstrated record of teaching and research excellence are also encouraged to apply.
