Call for Applications: HLS Program in Islamic Law, Student Fellow, Academic Year 2020-2021, Initial deadline Nov. 20.

The Program in Islamic Law at Harvard Law School, headed under Faculty Director Professor Intisar Rabb, is seeking a student to serve as a Student Fellow for Publications. The Program’s multiple publications including a peer-reviewed journal, print book series, online platforms, and digital special collections. Responsibilities include preparation of regularly released publications such as the monthly newsletter, publications pipeline coordination (from submissions intake to publication distribution and marketing), copy and style editing, report and grant writing support, community network development, and performing research on new developments and/or digital humanities tools that may augment this field of study.

The position is open to Harvard Law School (HLS) students, as well as Harvard graduate students. Work is anticipated to be 10-15 hours per week. The student fellow will be compensated at the standard research-assistant rate [or, alternatively may opt to receive up to 2 credits each semester].

Applications should be submitted via Formstack, including a resume, brief statement of interest (no more than two paragraphs), and an unofficial transcript. Knowledge of Arabic and/or Persian preferred. Applications received by Friday, November 20, 5PM US ET will receive full consideration; applications received thereafter will be reviewed on a rolling basis until filled.

Position term runs through academic year 2020-2021. There is a possibility of renewal dependent on need and performance.
