Conference: Policing Issues in the 21st Century, AALS, April 28, 2023
April 28, 2023
From the organizers:
As the law review submission season heats up, I wanted to send another reminder about the Criminal Procedure Section’s First Annual Junior/Senior Scholars Conference this spring! If you’re working on a project that might fit this year’s theme (“Policing Issues in the 21st Century”) and are pre-tenure or clinical faculty, we encourage you to submit unpublished works for review and commentary by senior members of our field. Submissions can be on any topic within the umbrella of policing issues, including but not limited to excessive force, stop-and-frisk, policing’s impact on racial minorities, Katz after Carpenter, police access to police-generated location databases, the reliability of confessions and identifications, qualified immunity, and institutional alternatives to the police.
As the attached CFP details, submissions are due by Friday, February 10, 2023 via email to [email protected]. Board members of the Criminal Procedure section will review all submissions and notify authors whose works are chosen by late March of 2023. The conference will take place over Zoom on April 28, 2023. We hope to see you there!
