Harvard CMES: Summer Arabic Program in Tunisia

CMES announces its Tunisia summer program in advanced Arabic. The course focuses on developing advanced reading and research skills in modern Arabic humanities and social sciences. The course dates are still being determined, and in the past ran mid-June to the end of July. Applicants must be graduate students currently enrolled at Harvard, and have completed roughly three years of formal Arabic instruction. Preference will be given to graduate students who are working in the Arab Middle Eastern/North African humanities or social science fields. One letter of recommendation is required from your supervising faculty member or the faculty member of your advanced Arabic course.

Students are expected to live in the same quarters (to be indicated at a later time), and will be given a stipend of $4,000 to assist with [economy] transportation, housing, meals, and incidentals.

Dates for the program are summer 2019 (still being determined).

Students are required to submit their unofficial transcript, a brief introduction/intent for study, and a letter of recommendation from their last or current Arabic language instructor.
