Position opening: Assistant Professor in Islamic Studies, Occidental College

The Religious Studies Dept. at Occidental College is soliciting applications for a tenure-track Asst. Professor position in Islamic Studies (link to the position). As part of the college’s Faculty Diversity Initiative (funded by the Mellon Foundation) this line is special in that the first year has a significantly reduced teaching load (1-1) as well as enhanced mentoring and professional development support. In year two, the line automatically converts into a regular tenure-track position in the Religious Studies department.
