Position opening: Islamic Law Blog Staff Editor, The Program in Islamic Law

Our Islamic Law Blog is looking for a staff editor to join our editorial team (remotely) at Harvard’s Program in Islamic Law / SHARIAsource. This staff editor will be working with Professor Intisar Rabb, editor-in-chief, and a small team of dedicated editors. We seek a candidate who has superb editorial, organizational, and scholarly skills and interest in scholarship on Islamic law and history. The editor would assist in soliciting, editing, and posting short-form scholarship from monthly guest editors comprised of senior and emerging scholars in the field, reviewing blog proposals and ongoing scholarship/news, and occasionally authoring special blog posts or organizing ‘roundtables’ that gather scholars writing in and around a timely themes in Islamic law and history. Interest in applying AI/data science to Islamic law texts is a plus, though not a must. Expected time commitment varies, but is estimated to be 10-20 hours per month; the position comes with a stipend.
