Andrew Bush, Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Bard College

Andrew Bush is Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Bard College. He was previously a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Law School, and at Cracow University of Economics. His first book “Between Muslims: Religious Difference in Iraqi Kurdistan” (Stanford, 2020) received the Biannual Book Award from the Association for Middle East Anthropology in 2022. Other work is published in Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies and American Ethnologist. He has conducted research in Iraqi Kurdistan since 2004 on Islamic traditions, poetry, ethics, law, and gender and sexuality.
