Workshop: The Middle East Beyond Borders, Fall 2020

Dear MEBB colleagues,

We hope your semester is off to a good virtual start. We are very excited to welcome you to a new season of Middle East Beyond Borders! This year we (Lucy Ballard and Chloe Bordewich) will be your coordinators with the continued support of our faculty advisors, Professors Malika Zeghal and Kristen Stilt.
We have six sessions scheduled for this fall, meeting bi-weekly on Monday evenings. Our first meeting will beMonday, September 21, 6:00-7:30pm (EST). Youssef Ben Ismail (PhD Candidate, NELC) will present a chapter from his dissertation, entitled “Who Protects Tunis? The Many Meanings of Protection in the 19th c. Mediterranean (1830-1881).
