Call for Contributions: Special-Edition Journal, Pakistan

July 15, 2022

The Centre for Human Rights at the University College in Lahore, Pakistan, seeks contributions for a special-edition thematic journal on women’s marriage rights in Pakistan.

This year’s special edition journal aims to advance the research and academic literature on barriers to women’s understanding and enjoyment of their legal rights in marriage and encourage creative solutions to protect and promote marriage rights for all Pakistani women, regardless of religion.
This journal will be peer-reviewed and published in collaboration with our partners, the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative. The final publication will be launched at a dedicated symposium including local and international experts scheduled for Fall 2022, where authors will formally present and discuss their articles in Lahore, Pakistan.
Submissions can be made on any of the following research questions and issues; however, this is not an exhaustive list, and authors are free to formulate other stimuli for research on the theme:
Analysis of the legal and policy frameworks for women’s marriage rights in Pakistan Discussion of judicial precedent promoting women’s marriage rights in Pakistan Intersectional analysis of legal, social, and/or economic barriers to protection of women’s marriage rights in Pakistan
Submissions Guidelines
We invite the submission of abstracts from both scholars and professionals. The abstracts must not exceed 500 words. The abstracts should be accompanied by a brief author’s biography, which should not exceed 150 words.
