  • Saudi Arabia‘s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that it began receiving applications for ‘umrah, a pilgrimage to Mecca, Islam’s holy site, that is typically shorter than the annual hajj gathering.  The applications are currently open to Saudi citizens and residents, and around 6,000 people can currently perform the ‘umrah daily, while the government also announced its intentions to gradually admit Muslims from other countries in the near future.
