The challenge is to define features that a human scholar can mark up in a reasonable amount of time, and that are relevant for the given question (e.g., Do we want to identify a scribe, or the period of production?). The paper presents a reference dataset of several dozen securely dated documents belonging to different contexts (private/official/legal), some of which can be assigned to specific persons.” [login required]
