SCHOLARSHIP ROUNDUP
On Islamic Law
- In “Analysis of Islamic Law in the Context of Lethal Injection for Terminated Patients in Indonesia” (Perwakilan: Journal of Good Governance, Diplomacy, Customary Institutionalization and Social Networks 2 (2024)), Fadilla Syahriani (Universitas Negeri Padang) and others “delve[] into the examination of Islamic law within the framework of lethal injection for terminally ill patients in Indonesia.”
- In “Protection of Human Life Through Humanitarian Intervention in Islamic law” (Legal Transformation in Muslim Societies 1, no. 2 (2024)), Muhammad Najmuddin “probes the legality and grounds of humanitarian intervention in Islamic law and investigates the prophetic expeditions and traditions which relate such precedents to modern-day humanitarian intervention.”
On Islam and Data Science
- In “From revelation to modern Islamic finance: Islamic commercial law in the UAE as a case study” (International Journal of Law and Management, September 13, 2024), Ahmed Mansoor Alkhan (ALM College, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK) and M. Kabir Hassan (University of New Orleans) find that “the introduction and incorporation of fiqhi and Islamic financial principles within the Updated Commercial Transactions law in the UAE was done so in its rudimentary form, indicating that its purpose was to enhance the UAE’s position as a leading global Islamic financial hub – as opposed to the sole purpose of its usage during disputes between counterparties.”
