Field Guide to Digital Islamic Law Resources Roundup

The Field Guide to Digital Islamic Law, in the form of a Google document, is a collection of resource links and annotations to SHARIAsource and other Harvard resources, global online digital resources, and a robust “Digital Islamic Law Collection.” We recently added exciting resources to this list:

  • Jarā’id is a research tool, a bibliographic database in TEI XML (in English and Arabic) containing around 3300 Arabic titles and holdings information about the global Arabic press between 1800 and 1929. The website also offers some visualizations of the data.
  • MENADoc is a digital library of several holdings of the German Oriental Society that includes features such as key word search in Arabic and Latin scripts. Advanced search allows for focusing on title, publisher, printer, year, and author. Users can also search in specific collections within the German Oriental Society.
