SCHOLARSHIP ROUNDUP

On Islamic Law

  • In “Contractual Issues in Islam” (Science & Society 1, no. 4 (2024)), Shahlo Fayzullayeva “explores the complex landscape of contractual issues within Islamic law, examining the foundational principles, legal frameworks, and contemporary challenges. Drawing upon Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and modern legal scholarship, it investigates various aspects such as forming contracts, contractual obligations, and resolving disputes.”
  • In “Islamic Apocalyptic Jurisprudence” (Islamic Law & Society, February 14, 2024), Ali Rod Khadem (Suffolk Law School) “introduces Islamic apocalyptic jurisprudence (theories of final law that will govern humanity in the End Times) to academic study.”
  • In “Islamic Criminal Law: A Comparison Of Its Application In Indonesia And Other Countries” (Pena Justisia 23, no. 1 (2024)), Maswandi Maswandi and others argue that “[t]he crucial issue in grounding Islamic criminal law is that there are still many Islamic criminal law terms that use Arabic terms and Arabic backgrounds, so that Islamic criminal law is only considered to fit the Arabic context.”
