  • In “Belief as Status: Premodern Islamic Law, Duties, and the Martyr Conundrum” (American Journal of Legal History, October 12, 2023), Adnan A. Zulfiqar (Rutgers Law School) explores dimensions of status “outside the modern, secular framework” by examining “aspects of belief as status in the premodern Islamic legal discourse.”
  • In “A Critical Analysis of Sports Law Under the Common and Islamic Laws” (SSRN, October 27, 2023), Dauda Ridwan Sarumi (University of Ilorin, Faculty of Law, Nigeria) notes that “the field of Islamic sports law is not nascent under the Shariah, because there are existing chapters of voluminous books on Islamic jurisprudence that cover salient principles regulating sports, games and physical exercises.”

  • The caselaw database of the Islamabad High Court provides a searchable repository of cases decided by the Islamabad High Court (Pakistan), including those relating to Islamic law.
